We met at 8:00AM at Cedarville Church, and drove to the Hamburg Reservoir parking lot.  Then followed the AT to Pulpt Rock. After a quick rest and some great views, we got back on the trail towards the Pinnacle.  Some fun rock climbing / bouldering along the trail!  Made it to the Pinnacle just after noon.  Had lunch in the shade and enjoyed the awesome views.  Only a couple of buzzards (we think one was our friend “Julio”) in the air.  On the way out we first heard and then saw a timber rattler (about 4′ long) minding his own business and trying to get away. Total hike = 8.4 miles.

After getting back to our cars, we went to Cabelas.  We did some shopping (or hanging out on the couches in the furnishing section - nice stuff if you have a cabin),  Then we enjoyed the buffet for dinner, and drove back to the church.  Great weather, great time!

Crew 95 helps the Relay for Life!

2 06 2009

This past weekend some members of Crew 95 stepped up and helped with the 2009 Pottstown Relay for Life. Starting at 6:30 in the morning they helped clean up the hundreds of luminaries that were part of the event. Transporting milk crates full of 2×4 blocks used to support the candles after dismantling each of the luminaries by hand was part of the tasks they were requested to tackle by the Relay for Life Staff. After completing the dismantling, the Crew members grabbed brooms and helped in the cleaning of the bleachers from wax and other debris. The Crew members received high praise from the staff of the Relay for pitching in and helping get a job that normally takes several hours done in record time. Good job Crew!

Philmont shake-down 8/1/08 - 8/3/08

4 08 2008

Hey we just got back on Sunday from our most recent Philmont shake-down. We started off the weekend by camping at Camp Bayshore Friday night. From there we started backpacking on Saturday morning. While on the hike we found our selves on the top of a mountain is a storm. It sounds scary but it was acctually a time for us to learn what to do and how to protect our selves in that kind of situation. That night we set up camp, made dinner, and had lots of time to get to know each other and bond as a crew and a family. The next day we continued our hike until we returned back at Camp Bayshore. It was a lot of fun and a great experiance.

Special Needs Camperee

6 07 2008

On June 27-29, six of our crew members went down to Camp Ware to help out at special needs camp. We all had alot of fun helping out at the field events, nature lodge, and archery range. It was a great experiance and it was nice to be able to help those who can’t always help themselves. We did end up getting rained on but we made the best of it and were able to bond as a crew. I can’t wait until the next year’s Special Needs Camp its going to be so much fun.
